Stories from the drawer
In the middle of the all other tasks I had going on, I suddenly decided to publish a few of my stories as a small book.
As an entrepreneur I have prepared layouts to many books for other authors and poets but not for my own. I do not have any novels ready, but I have got many short stories on my computer. I picked out seven of them and noticed that they read like bedtime stories for adults and youngsters with a quirky sense of humor and unconventional viewpoints.
The stories needed just a little bit of polishing and trimming. I drew up some little illustrations, made the layout and sent it to the printing house. It was surprisingly easy to publish the book.
Also the sales surpassed all my expectations. I told my friends about the book in Facebook on Thursday and 60 % of the books were sold on Saturday. I got the money back I paid for the printing in a couple of days. I could not believe it!
Still, this is not a business yet, but very good practice for future.
